Sonic 1 Remastered

Sonic 1 Remastered is a hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive), made by the fan programmer Puto.

Unlike most other hacks, it does not just change the art, palettes or level layouts. It is a hack that adds new features to the game. One of the main additions is the option to play as Sonic or Tails throughout the whole game, with the character chosen on the title screen. There are also improvements such as the spin dash from later games.

It is a great way to experience the classic first Sonic game with modern touches.
