Metal Sonic in Sonic 2 is a fan modification of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 starring Metal Sonic, the robot copy of the hedgehog built by Doctor Robotnik. A hack for those who have beaten the original Sonic 2 many times and want to play it differently.
What changed
- A new main hero with his own sprites and animation.
- Changed abilities that affect speed and how levels play.
- All zones of the original: Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant, Aquatic Ruin, Casino Night and all the way to Death Egg.
About the original Sonic 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) is one of the best-selling Sega Genesis games. It introduced the spin dash, Tails and Super Sonic, and its levels were bigger and faster than in the first game.
Controls
The Sega gamepad layout (A, B, C and Start) is shown under the game window, and you can change it in the emulator settings. A gamepad works best, and on a phone an on-screen gamepad appears.
Tips
- To get the Super form, collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds in the bonus stages.
- Metal Sonic feels different, so save more often in tough parts like Metropolis Zone.
- Check out other hacks too: Metal Sonic in Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 2 Heroes.
