Comix Zone

Comix Zone is a unique and innovative game developed by Sega for the Genesis (Mega Drive) in 1995. It was truly ahead of its time, combining a side-scrolling beat 'em up with the feeling of a living comic book.

You play Sketch Turner, a comic artist who is working on his new comic when a lightning strike during a storm frees the villain Mortus from the page and pulls Sketch inside the comic. Now the hero is trapped in a post-apocalyptic world of his own creation, while Mortus draws new enemies to stop him.

Instead of just walking from left to right, you move from panel to panel, smash through obstacles, solve small puzzles and even tear pieces of paper from the page to make paper airplanes. Your rat Roadkill helps you find hidden items. The striking art style and hard-hitting soundtrack make Comix Zone a true retro masterpiece.
