Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 is the game that started one of the most successful fighting series in history. It was released in Japan in 1999 and immediately won players over with gameplay that was very different from traditional fighting games.

Instead of draining a health bar, you build up your opponent's damage percentage. The higher it gets, the further they fly when hit, and the goal is to knock them off the stage. Fights take place on platforms inspired by famous Nintendo worlds, and items such as hammers, bombs and Poke Balls add chaos.

The roster includes Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu and several unlockable characters. Up to four players can fight at once, which makes it one of the best party games on the console.
