Yie Ar Kung-Fu

Yie Ar Kung-Fu is one of the first fighting games in history. Developed by Konami and released in arcades in 1985, it laid the foundations of the genre long before Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and it was also released on the NES (Dendy).

You play Oolong, a kung fu master who has to defeat a series of opponents one after another. Each rival has a unique fighting style and often a weapon, such as a pole, chain, fans or shuriken, so you need to find the right way to approach each of them.

The game is quite simple, and its age shows in the graphics and sound, but it remains surprisingly fun. Punches and kicks can be aimed high, middle or low, and good timing is the key to victory.
